Wilhelm Boeddinghaus

Founder and CEO Route 128 GmbH

"Since I had my first computer, an Apple II, on my desk at 16, my fascination for computers never left me. Studying computer science in Berlin, earning my degree as a Dipl. Informatiker, was a direct outcome of my passion for computers. During my studies, I discovered networks and started my first company even before graduating. Later, I joined Strato, a major German hoster, where I developed the network across sites and peering points. During that time, I earned my Cisco CCIE and was introduced to IPv6 in 2008. In 2009, Strato launched its first commercial IPv6 product. As CEO of Route 128 GmbH, we developed the IPv6 Smartkit, which simplifies IPv6 adoption and operation for companies and public institutions."

Stefan Wahl

"Since I first started working with computers at age 15, I’ve been fascinated by how these machines communicate with one another. At first, it was dedicated data networks that caught my attention, and I devoted much time and effort to understand and utilize them. At that time, there was little literature or online material available; web servers were invented a decade later. Gathering knowledge required poring over – then very slim – computer magazines. The more you immersed yourself in computers and networking for communication, the more you connected with like-minded people. This remains true today. Computer networks should never be an end in themselves; they should bring people together and share knowledge. Networks are here to stay, and more people will continue to fall under the magic of instant access to information. That’s why it's essential to return networks to their roots, a time when communication was truly end-to-end and every user was both a consumer and a provider in the network. This is why we must continually renew and expand old networks. IPv6 is the protocol we have today to fulfill this dream, so let’s make this dream a reality together."

Michael Schulte

Founder and CEO Route 128 Inc.

"Since childhood, I’ve loved building innovative software solutions. During my studies at Harvard, I focused particularly on human and machine learning, exploring how we learn and share knowledge. These key elements are deeply embedded in all our products. I’ve had the privilege of discussing the future with some brilliant minds over the past few years—and now I want to help shape that future. The Internet of the future (IPv6) is my next step toward that goal."

Creating Value

How we work

How We Work

We deliver results with and for our clients. Our team and products empower our clients to design and operate modern networks. Self-help and knowledge transfer to the client are our top priorities.

Unique Knowledgebase from Decades of Experience

Our knowledge, totaling more than 50 person-years of IPv6 experience, is embedded in the development of the IPv6 Smartkit and our training programs. This unique knowledgebase, written and curated by our experts, makes years of experience accessible to everyone and enables easy integration of IPv6 into networks.

Scalability of Our Approach

IPv6 implementation impacts your entire IT organization. The IPv6 Smartkit is a one-stop solution for all IT needs. The transition to IPv6 with the IPv6 Smartkit can be started and conducted across all IT departments simultaneously.

Cybersecurity & Sustainable Network Design

Good, clear network design is key to IT security. Hierarchical networks and micro-segmentation increase IT visibility, making it easier to detect and counteract attacks. A well-structured IPv6 network can be operated with a smaller team.
